If you happen to have delayed your updates for a considerable period of time there is a possibility that the phones maps are outdated which may be causing errors in identifying locations accurately. I also had google maps going the entire time I like to see how far alonghow much time till I get to my destination.
BTW I have a Samsung S8 unlocked US version.
